Basic Parts of a Computer System

Basic Parts of Computer System

Comp6670.047
Identify the basic parts of a computer system and the relationships among components.

Define Hardware, Software, Users and Data.
Explain how they work together and what would happen if you were missing one of those four.
Find images that correlate with each of the parts and paste them in your post.

Hardware: the physical components of a computer, including processor and memory chips, input/output devices, tapes, disks, modems, and cables

Software: a set of instructions or code to be executed by the CPU; designed to help users solve problems or perform tasks

Users: the person who inputs and analyzes data using a computer

Data: raw facts, numbers, letters, or symbols that the computer processes into meaning information

How they all work together: Hardware is the basis of a computer and without it, a computer would not exist. The software makes the hardware usable. The data makes the computer hold in all of the information we put in them. All of these parts make the computer useful and without any if the parts, the computer would not work, and would not be useful to us.
